======Types of Donations to FSGW======

There are 4 "flavors" of donations to FSGW:

  - Donations to an event.  These are added to the event's income, and go no further.  Unless unusually large, these donations are not normally acknowledged.\\ \\ 
  - Donations to a specific fund.  The currently active funds are shown as donation targets on the FSGW website "[[https://fsgw.org/donate|Donate]]" page, and are listed below.  These funds carry over from year to year.  Each fund is controlled by some group within FSGW, which can vote to spend money from the fund.  For example the ECDC can spend from the ECD Spring Ball (Rich Galloway Fund).  A fund may have rules with which it was created, for example the Rich Galloway Fund funds are supposed to be spent on the ECD Spring Ball.  The FSGW board has final oversight over all these funds, of course.

    * Contra Dance
    * FSGW Getaway Weekend
    * Grapevine storytelling
    * CD Spring Ball (Rich Galloway Fund)\\ \\ 
  - Money given with a specific documented purpose, which is not just "please use this donation for'' language, but an actual formal document  These are normally bequests of thousands to tens of thousands of dollars.  The rules for use and duration come in the bequest document(s).\\ \\ 
  - Unspecified donations, which is everything else, including the donation target "General FSGW donation".  These donations do not carry over to future years, and just get added to FSGW's income for the donation year.\\ \\
